| Monday 1.30 - 3:30 | KA1 |
| Maer Gymraeg yn Ddifyr Welsh is
Fun! | Peter Ball |
We continue with a third term of Welsh
language and culture for beginners, building on ground already covered with materials from Teach
Yourself Welsh and other sources. Although complete beginners will not be able to make up for lost
ground, anyone who already speaks a little Welsh is very welcome to join this class, and indeed may
find himself/herself able to contribute to the teaching. Peter comes from Bristol and
taught at UTas in social psychology, psycholinguistics and related fields. His father was a
Welshman and, like most Welshmen of his generation, couldn't speak Welsh, so Peter is not a native
speaker, more an advanced learner, hoping to reverse the family lack of interest in Britain's
'Senior Language'. His recreational interests include choral music, art and languages.

| Monday 1:30 - 3.30 |
KA2 |
| Writers Group | David
Leaman |
Class limit 15 It is perhaps a
measure of the success of the Writing Group that, since starting 8 years ago, 6 writers have
independently published books and 2 years ago the Group as a whole combined to produce a collection
of their work. However, this is a group where there is no pressure to actively participate at all.
Members are welcome to sit and listen until they feel confident to take part. The class usually
starts with an exercise to get the writing started then the results are shared sometimes
thought provoking and often hilarious! After a break for a cuppa there is a chance for those who
wish to share a little of their current personal writing true stories, fiction, and the
occasional prose or verse. By joining this course you will be encouraged to develop your own
writing skills and will gain knowledge and inspiration from the work of others. Old and new writers
very welcome.
